Sylva Stylus £895 or best offer
SCAR - 8/5/13 at 11:50 AM

Road registered as a Sylva Stylus in my name and on sorn non Q plate and with original sylva chassis vin plate.
No engine or exhaust included, for complete rebuild, probably needs body off
Includes good mk2 rear axle
Some new suspension parts fitted, rocker arms, trailing arms
Set of 4 silver alloys with as new tyres
Ali dash with traditional clocks.
New disks but been stood several years
Powder coated uprights
Check out the other images in my photo archive including some close ups as these probably make the car look better than it is although they were taken within the last two weeks.
Body will go again but in some areas the colour has sun bleached grey, being gelcoat it may machine polish, the photos show the car wet after being washed so it looks shiney.
Roof is shot
Door hinges are shot
I have too many other projects including a phoenix build so if it doesnt make a decent offer I may chop it up but it seems a shame

I'd be interested in some of the parts if you end up splitting, but I can't take the whole thing. Roof (for a pattern!), roof bars, bonnet panel, and suspension parts depending on spec relative to mine. Possibly the axle depending on ratio. Let me know if you split

I really want to put an offer in for this but it just isn't the right time. Damn having to move house and change jobs.

U2U sent

Thanks

Angus

FYI, looks like that's a Fury chassis at the front, so would be quite an early Stylus.

Thanks for all the interest I will reply to each in turn. I assume the plate came from the donor escort, the new style V5 states Sylva Stylus first registered 1998 and in special notes kit built/converted

bikenuts - 8/5/13 at 08:37 PM

I may be interested in the side windows if you do split the car.

Cheers

Thanks for all the interest and offers, the car is now sold to a young local guy for full body off restoration.
Really pleased, I'm sure it will be back on the road soon.

me! - 9/5/13 at 04:24 PM

Good, I'm glad it's going back on the road in one piece, even if it means I don't get the parts. It is amazing that kits in this condition are worth so little money though, given that it is registered and the costs/hassle involved with IVA.

SCAR - 9/5/13 at 04:40 PM

And he plans to put a new 2.0 zetec in it

me! - 9/5/13 at 04:44 PM

Probably the best engine ever ;-)

Alfa145 - 9/5/13 at 04:45 PM

Will be good to get another Stylus on the road reasonably close to me too.

SCAR - 9/5/13 at 04:50 PM

Reasonably close! I think he said Bolsover

Alfa145 - 9/5/13 at 04:53 PM

Very, very close then. Feel free to put him in touch through here or on the ClubStylus forum if he has any questions

the constant builder - 9/5/13 at 07:47 PM

Glad you got it sold, hope the new owner makes a good job of the rebuild.

Best regards

Angus

Hi it as now been passed on to me will be arriving tomorrow may need a bit of help sourcing some bits.
and it may get a s type 3.0 v6 or a 255hp xe both need a home ?
but any help

SCAR - 24/6/13 at 06:48 PM

Surprised to see it moved on so soon, did the seller get very far with the rebuild?

alfablack - 24/6/13 at 06:54 PM

as far as I now its not been touched looking at your pics I bought it unseen(I now what a prat but it can't be that bad) can it getting it delivered tomorrow with a view of sorting it out and finding where to get parts from

SCAR - 24/6/13 at 08:07 PM

I think the description I gave in the original add is fair and accurate.

alfablack - 24/6/13 at 08:13 PM

well I will wait for it to arrive and take it from there.
one thing though it says the door hinges are worn is that the hinges or the doors are worn out. and any idea where you would get replacements

SCAR - 24/6/13 at 08:33 PM

The "hinges are shot" meaning they're knackered. i.e. seized and rusted. I put a close up photo in my photo archive (in the Stylus folder). You may have to fabricate some new ones yourself as I am not sure if anyone still produces Stylus parts. You could try Jeremy at Sylva cars as he may still have the original details. If your after any further info you might want to start a new thread as this is still in the for sale section

Alfa145 - 24/6/13 at 08:41 PM

Stylus parts are not currently in production. Jeremy sold on the rights to the Stylus to others and they hold the rights but are not producing parts at the moment.

cfc999 - 24/6/13 at 09:11 PM

Is it on fleebay????

garyo - 25/6/13 at 08:03 PM

Looks like the same one on the bay - it's a confusing thread if alfa is waiting for it to arrive?

theduck - 25/6/13 at 08:13 PM

Was due today wasn't it? Did it arrive?

SCAR - 26/6/13 at 07:54 AM

If its arrived I hope its what you were expecting, (get the spanners out).
I don't think I would have been prepared to sell it unseen.

Schrodinger - 26/6/13 at 08:33 AM

If you are looking for help with parts etc. you could try on http://www.clubstylus.be/forum/index.php
there are a lot of owners on there and at least one person who is touch with the current owner of the stylus.

alfablack - 26/6/13 at 08:46 AM

Hi yes it landed last night tucked away safely in my unit. body as got to come of she is in a bit of a sorry state

garyo - 26/6/13 at 03:54 PM

So what's with the ebay auction - are you reselling it already?

alfablack - 26/6/13 at 04:05 PM

it is no longer on ebay its in my unit. will be starting another post because I seem to have hijacked this one
but will try and get body of shortly and some pics. spoken to steve at fury very nice chap very helpful.
cos im going to need as much help as I can get.
and it was a bit of a gamble buying unseen but to get a car through a iva is going to be about a grand so no messing about just a couple of long repairs and mot it mm ?
