Wanted ZZR1100 engine
teegray19 - 30/4/14 at 04:53 PM

As above!

Let me know what youv got, third gear is gone on mine!

Although it's just gone in, can't stand not having third already.

Rather drop a decent engine and box in and the repair the box I've got later.

Must be decent price!

its a quick and easy job changing the box i would go that route for a few hours work and a few gaskets the last one took an hour to do out of the bike

teegray19 - 30/4/14 at 05:34 PM

What gaskets do you need when you split the engine and box?

I've got a spare box sitting. After doing a full engine change, rewire among other things over the winter just want to drive the thing!

rick1962uk - 30/4/14 at 05:44 PM

sump ,clutch and rotor cover cases use sealant use a good quality one if you have a spare clutch you can leave the old one conected but if you need to use the old one remove the face plate but leave the plates in and use an air gun to remove the nut push lightly on the clutch plates as you undo the nut its makes it realy easy no need for a clutch holderi have a manuall i can copy some pages if it helps

What about that only on here a while back. Did you get it to run ok.

teegray19 - 30/4/14 at 06:25 PM

I'm missing a "air vacuum accelerator pump" it takes air pressure from the top of the engine and balances it with feed from the air box to pressurise the float bowls pushing up petrol into the carbs.

so its on order and we should be revving!

kj - 30/4/14 at 06:51 PM

Bet you can't wait, looking forward to getting mine out. I have a sump baffle on order

teegray19 - 30/4/14 at 06:54 PM

yep! want to get that sorted before fast lane then the engine and box back out to get a third!

looking forward to having it finished.

What does that look like and where does it go?

kj - 1/5/14 at 08:03 AM

Hi Guinness, hows the car not seen or herd anything since last year i think.

teegray19 - 1/5/14 at 08:50 PM

it looks like this...

ive ordered one, but i could only find one for a 600cc engine (hopefully similar)

KAWASAKI ZZR600E6 ZZR 600 VACUUM BREATHER VALVE

teegray19 - 1/5/14 at 08:52 PM

if I've got no joy with this, its off to day tuner for a full set up.

i give up doing stuff by ear, sound and smell! i need a dyno to tell me what the engine is doing

rick1962uk - 1/5/14 at 10:14 PM

have you made sure the diaphragms are all working ok it dosent take much to mess them up stick your finger in at the bottom they should move up easy with almost no resistance and return with a slight damping also make sure the ballance vents are sealed and the jet needle in the slide is retained ok i have seen them with the nylon washers on the wrong side so they can go uo in the retainer clip
its a real shame your a bit to far away as im sure it wouldnt take much to get it right

teegray19 - 2/5/14 at 05:25 PM

i think its the ram air system...

not being present that is! I'm going to try a couple of things tonight - i know its soo close, its bloody annoying!

kj - 2/5/14 at 06:49 PM

I did not think the ram air system came into affect on BEC's
What about liftinfg th nedles with a small washer, i did that on my pinto with ZZR1100 carbs becouse it would not rev over a set level, you can get them fromB&Q

teegray19 - 3/5/14 at 09:45 PM

it sure does! I'm my case anyways, all are different!

didn't rev above 6k rpm as standard.. plugged..... believe it or not, a garden funnel into where the ram air normally goes and hay - presto 8 1/2 k rpm..... very strange.

gotta get this gear linkage sorted for fast lane, total pisser that it broke tonight.

I'm much better now, had a hectic few years, working on temporary contracts, so no time / money to spend on the car.

I've now got a permanent job within a mile of the house, so don't even have a tin top at the moment.

Got to fix the 106 first, then get the 7 back on the road.

kj - 4/5/14 at 08:04 AM

I thought you may have sold it, et you can't wait too get it back out. I know few sold theirs by age new north east cars now too
