Anyone had any experience of it then?

There was a post on here a while back about the first true action HD camera under 100 to compete with the gopro.

I brought one and have used it once, not for a track day.

It seems to be very good and only cost 60. I would suggest that if your in the market for one buy the same as mine.

Do you have a link to the one you bought bi22le?

After some searching I have found the review with examples:

http://www.techmoan.com/blog/2013/6/9/sj1000-at-lasta-good-cheap-action-camera.html

The thing to look for on ebay is "sj1000"

Some of the things he moans about in the review have actually been sorted. You can now turn the unit on and off without taking it out of the waterproof case, for example.

It seems quite a nice unit. Not sure about wind noise within the waterproof case but the reviews I read it did not seem too bad.

Thanks bi22le, I'll ask Father Christmas for one. Any ideas how it could be mounted to a cage?

bimbleuk - 30/11/13 at 02:41 PM

There's one useful feature that the Lidl's camera has and that's an external MIC.

Useful to reduce wind noise in an open top car. I've also used low sensitiviy MICs before to record near exhausts and engines.

Here's a review, it's a DXG camera.

The internal MIC appears to be very sensitive so a low level external MIC might be useful on a kit car.

It has the normal screw in the bottom of the camera. It also comes with loads of mounts, several will work in different locations.
