Jesus wept, £90k for a Sierra! Seriously?

It is a bargain compared to this one:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1987-Ford-Sierra-2-0-RS-Cosworth-500-Ltd-Edn-3dr-/161763693461?hash=item25a9de1395

Joking aside. I was at Ford Fair 2 weekends ago. I have been going for over 10 years now. These are common (ish) as are many other very nice classic fords.

The show value (cars to be exhibited) must now be going on for the most expensive to be found bar Goodwood FOS or some other ultra high end classic event. Many many MK1 Mk2 Escorts.

When you get talking to the owners they are mostly average Joes. They have had the car since the 90s and brough them as a passion, they had no real idea of how much they have gone up in value.

I remember talking to a guy that was racing a mk1 escort in an open class. It was a brand new build with a BDT engine in, ~500bhp. Build cost was well north of 100k.

Off they're rocker, that's a good garage of cars at that money.... It's out of date, slow etc.... I'd rather a nice mk1 lotus cortina...
