bridging a tethered bluetooth connection

Hi I figured i would tap into some knowledge here as i am stumped as well as our IT guy at work ( I also did IT for 18 years but have been out of it for 8 years).
This is what I am trying to do. in an area with no internet connection I have to license a piece of equipment over the internet. If i tether my blackberry to my laptop via bluetooth I can get internet access to my laptop and its good. I want to be able to plug my equipment into my laptop via wired ethernet and communicate out through the bluetooth connection to the outside internet.
my problem seems to be that after getting the internet connection sharing enabled and tested ( wireless adaptor to lan works just fine) i do not have the option to bridge the bluetooth connection to the lan. There is no option on the bluetooth connection under lan settings to bridge like there is for the wireless or wired network ports.
Any Ideas?

Set the laptop as the default gateway on the piece of equipment that needs Internet access. You can then allow internet sharing on the laptop.

I'm guessing its a windows laptop, depending on the version of windows (different locations/names) you should have the option to "share this PCs internet connection" or something along those lines.

Not done it myself before tho.

Would using your phone as a WiFi hotspot open more options? Is connect through WiFi rather than bluetooth

Looks like hotspot data disabled on the company plan. Have to keep working on it i guess.
