hi all
im at the last stage for filling and smoothing the p38 on my wheel arches
i was just wondering how do you know that the filler is 100% smooth with the bodywork and what methods have people used to achieve this??

thin guide coat of black paint and then rub it down - you should soon see any high or low spots

If you use a matt black spray and lightly dust over the area, then sand back using something like 800 or 1200 wet & dry, you can see any hollows in the filler as spots or rings.

You'll only find the bumps and hollows if you use the wet & dry on a flat block...

ok sounds good!!
so how do you know if it high??
will the be a black spot next to it or somthing??

If it's high, the top goes to the base colour, and it's surrounded by black.

put a guide coat on, sand with a block, once all the guide has gone , its done.
