Help. Trying to find UK source of 16 way connector.
TimC - 3/12/16 at 10:09 PM

I need the LBs knowledge bank: I need a 16way plug-in wire connector so that I can remove my switch panel if needed.

Ideally something like:

But splashproof not totally necessary.

I can't afford to wait until January for the part to arrive from China.

Any ideas?

if I needed it absolutely immediately I might re-purpose an old TV scart connection

but there are many better

look to farnell or rs components (or even maplin)

Brand Hatch Performance on eBay sell pre-packed Mate-N-Lok and Econoseal connectors which may suit your needs. Not necessarily the 100% cheapest way to buy these connectors, but very convenient and plenty of options. Used plenty of them on my dash in my Mojo and no problems so far 7 years later.

Here's a 15-way version: http://r.ebay.com/MI2pto

Might be of some use

Does it have to be a single connector? Vehicle Wiring Products (based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, but they do mail order) do a range of connectors, but the biggest is only 15-way. Could you use two 8-way?

Even if you can get a 16 way splitting it into two or even three is sensible.

Out of stock but these (generally listed as military connectors) come in that many 'ways'.

Mate N Lock - only 15 way Tim, but as said above use a 9 and a 6 (try to avoid using two 8s as there's a chance of connecting them up wrong!)

Thanks all for the suggestions; I've bought Male and Female OBDII sockets to have a look at - failing that I will split the requirement in two.

Oh, and Wyn - what's 9 + 6 = ?

I could have probably been a bit more accurate Tim but you know what I meant!
