This has to be a possible contender for the world record for garage to dent distance.

My wife picked up her new car today. Brand new, registered yesterday, been sitting in the showroom all week ready for collection wrapped in cotton wool.
All polished clean.... immaculate.... shimmering.... spotless.... glinting under the halogen lights of the showroom window for all to see as they drive past in the rain.

She drove out of the dealers, around the roundabout probably about 350 yards into McDonalds car park and boom! straight up the dark / wasn't there when I came in kerb. Instant bite out of the tyre and wheel, so back to the garage next week to fix it.

Priceless....

While not a dent, 350 yards is going to take some beating.... I reckon she's a gold medal winner..

Quite a few years ago now (probably early 2000's) A mate of mine managed to write a brand new s type jag off that had just come out of the dealers and onto the road straight into the back of a traffic jam and then my mate went straight into the back and wrote it off! Apparently the guy was in tears!

The dealer was behind a petrol station and the car was level with the canopy so technically less than 10m I supppose from the dealership!

I went to collect my new bmw from Bradford back in 2006 and the driver who reverses it into the pick up area which is inside damaged my wing mirror before I got to drive it but no it doesn't beat yours as mine was not me driving

My old fella was a Ford sales man years ago, he had the front end taken off a Ford cortina Crusader as he pulle off the foercourt. He also drove a brand new care through the showroom window. Fortunately he owned neither

My sister in law collected her new motor bike, pushed it out of the showroom and dropped it before getting on it . Distance from showroom door 2 metres!

Not me personally, but at a garage I used to work at the Sales Manager was boffin the receptionist who had just passed her car test, and he told her to drive a car that had just been taken off the delivery wagon, from the road out front where he had just dropped it, and pull it in to the forecourt. I think he thought he was showing her that not only did he have a small penis, but that he could let her drive brand new cars if she carried on sucking it. She pulled out from behind the truck without looking and wiped the car out having not even been registered and given a plate, but driven 10 yards on the road.

When my uncle took delivery of his brand new 1984 xr4i, he arrived home very proud, bumped the front of the car against the front wall of the house. Went back to the dealers for the bumper to be repaired. Two days later the dealership phoned to say they were having to re-shell it as the floorpan was deforemed due to the impact

A friend of mine bought a black Escort XR3 Mk3 brand new and it fell off the transporter before he picked it up. He had to have a different one in red and had the extras retro fitted.

not a dent as such but,when i started work all those years ago,we had cars delivered and dumped into a compound,BL as it was then were hopeless at spare parts so we would often rob bit,s off new cars still in wax,quite a few were scrapped as so many parts had been robbed off them

We have had 2 cars damaged as they came off the transporter and one guy who reversed his new car out of a parking space and straight down a ditch. the car had 4 miles on the clock.

I worked with a guy who had his brand new company car delivered to the office car park on the first day of his new job.

He managed to reverse into the MD's car while leaving the car park. Didn't even make it to the road.

Now that's a way to make a good impression......He didn't work for us long.

I read about a transporter guy who used to save time by not strapping down the cars. One time (the last time he drove hopefully!) he had to stop suddenly and 2 Jags rolled off the top. So that's not even got to the showroom yet

One more reason why new cars are a false economy, I'd rather buy a new car with a few scuffs for half the price!
