What is the difference between a 180TC mount and a 184TC(or 182TC) ?

Dimensionally they seem the same, but I'd just like to know the difference.

Ok.....here we go...

I will break down the code...

184TC

T = complies with modern (post '64) standards
C = face mounting

When there are 3 numbers, take the first 2 and divide by 4 this gives you the shaft centre to feet distance...in this case 4.5"

The 3rd number refers to different hole spacing in the feet

A zero 3rd number (as in 180) is used for the designation of mating gearboxes etc. (or motors with no feet I guess...) where the foot holes are irrelevant.

Therefore in terms of face mounting, 180TC = 182TC = 184TC....
