how flexible is flexible silicone hoses?

How tight a bend can you make with flexible coolant hose? Just trying to map out my coolant lines.

Depends how big it is. The narrow bore stuff is pretty bendy. I suppose it's just a function of it's diameter and bore.

its a 38mm diameter hose

silicon hose with a helical steel wire in it will bend into a much tighter bend without kinking.
I have some with 32mm bore. Its minimum bend radius is about 100mm.

the reason im asking is because i bought some off ebay and it kinkend when it got a bend of with a radius of about 25cm, just checking this wasnt the norm, have now emailed them to get a refund.

Big stuff will kink without much of a bend at all, certainly only a few degrees.

Same with all hose unless its designed to be bent like the stuff with spiral wire in. Most doesnt have this.

It's always best to buy pre formed bends.

That looks an interesting product, has anyone used it?

Even with the Unicoil it will still kink if you push it to far.
I have loads of ebay silicon in my car but needed a couple of angles to make them fit, 1x 90 degs 1x 45 degs, even a small bend on the 32mm hose made it kink.

Ok thanks guys

Will try my bestto get it done using preformed bends.
