Zetec Bellhousing Bolts
speedstar - 23/3/11 at 12:13 PM

Does anyone know the thread of the bellhousing for a 2.0 Zetec Black Top?

Need to buy some long bolts to get it on the engine stand but can't get a definitive answer.
Peolpe say use the head b olts, but heads not off (and might not take it off for a while yet).

Cheers all!

M10 standard, thats a 1.5mm pitch.

Easiest thing to do is get some M10 threaded bar and a few nuts, will cost you less than a fiver in wickes, I bought some last weekend to make a spring compressor.

Sorry, but I would get proper bolts. Threaded bar is usually pretty soft, and if hanging the engine off a stand I would be after a little more reassurance. A bag of 10 bolts should be a couple of quid.....

It is definately softer than regular 8.8 bolts, but my Zetec hung off it for above a year, just offering a cheap and local solution......

local tool station will do m10 bolts grade 8.8 cheap as chips

You can buy threaded rod in 8.8 and 12.9, you must have a decent industrial supplier nearby who will stock this.
