swirl pot plumbing

My Fury had a swirl pot added at some point before I got it , I'm refreshing all the rubber fuel hoses at the moment and the swirl pot plumbing doesn't seem quite right.

The car has Jenvey TBs with a fuel regulator connected to the TB rear fuel-rail outlet.

At the moment it has:
- top pipe - fuel IN from regulator bottom pipe (return from TBs)
- upper middle pipe - fuel IN from LP pump / tank
- lower middle pipe - fuel OUT return to tank
- bottom pipe - fuel OUT to filter -> HP pump -> throttle bodies inlet

So from what I can tell that's not right - it should be like this:

but I'm not sure if all swirl pots are the same inside? It's a nice alloy one but doesn't have any markings / manufacturer name on it. Are they just an empty pot with 4 outlets?

thanks
James

Fuel back to the tank always at the top as its overflow.

HP always feeds from the bottom

Fuel supply from the LP pump and from the rail return into the middle, it does not really matter which one, they should both come in at an angle to promote swirl.

In the end I dumped my swirl pot and built a sump and baffles into the fuel tank for simplicity.

Thanks, looks like it was wrong before - seeing as all the hoses end up at the pot at least its an easy fix

As the others have said, inlets and outlets enter and exit as tangents.

Personally if I had the inlet on the left then the outlet would be on the right ( as "p & q" )
so both encourage a vortex in the same direction.

both side pipes are on the same side , same as that image above only mirrored.
