Polo rad

Does anyone know if the commonly used polo rad with work on a boil over/suck up system?

No reason why not. You just need an appropriate filler somewhere and importantly correct cap. But in all honesty a header tank should work in the same layout.

I have had that setup in my Locost for over 11 years...

Cheers fellas!

Just had a look at one on eBay, didn't realise it didn't have a filler cap.

Probably a stupid question David Jenkins, but how do you fill it?

I'm guessing the little overflow pipe goes down into your overflow bottle and it boils over into and sucks back up from that bottle, but how do you fill it in the first place?

I used one of these: thermostat housing

I'm sure I didn't pay anywhere near that price when I bought mine 11 - 12 years ago! Looks like they're out of stock at the moment too.

You might find Dave Andrews web site useful - look for the link labelled "View oil and water control". It explains what you're trying to achieve, although he's talking about a different engine it's the same principle.
