Joining silicon to aluminium for cooling.

I'm just ordering silicon hose and aluminium pipe for my cooling on the zetec.

With the aluminium pipe, if I cut the length of the 32mm pipe to length there wont be any lip rolled into the pipe for the silicon hose to grip. Will that be ok or will the hose blow off when under pressure?

Google beading tool. Or search here. There are a few ways to make a home made one.

Use a beading tool or find some 'oyster pliers'. Another method is to drill the pipe and pop some pop rivets into it.

I made a beading tool using some tips off here... Some mole grips, exhaust clamp and a washer. Took a few minutes of practice, but does a fairly good job! More than enough to stop the hose coming off.

If you haven't got the pipe, B&Q do Alu aerial extension which is 32mm (also do 25mm), only £11 for 1.8m.

Modified Oyster pliers do a good job.
