Type 9 gearbox leak

Type 9 gearbox leak I thought it was possibly the input shaft seal I removed the bell housing and found no gasket between the bell housing and gear box the selector shaft protrudes from what I guess is an open hole so I guess the gasket is important and would stop the gear oil escaping into the bell housing onto the clutch.
I have purchased a seal kit so I intend on doing them all any tips on fitting these and getting it oil tight would gasket sealant help what do you recommend?
