I have removed the standard oil pressure sender from my 4AGE but the new one does not seam to screw in to well.

The new sender says it is 1/8 NTP 27 but it will onlt screw in 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn.

The old sender looks a little smaller and has less of a taper.

Is there a size close to 1/8 NTP 27 that I need to re thred the new sender to.

That's odd, fitted oil pressure switch and sender to my 20v 4AGE at the weekend and that was definitely 1/8 NPT.

Not a great deal of help I know... sorry.

I have a die so i might give that a spin over it and see if it helps

Don't hold me to this, it's a long time ago since I went through discovering all the details of senders.

For information just been told the 4AGE oil sender is 1/8 BSPT with is 28Tpi rather than 27Tpi and i do not think BSPT is tapered like NPT is.

I think the M10 thread is next to the factory sender but I can't use that as it fouls my relocated altenator.

hope you have the right thread now. Can i recommend you use a remote sender and pressure switch. i used a T piece to get both mounted on the block and the T broke with the extra weight and vibration. i didn't notice till i got home, the black blood was coming out, i'd left a trail a mile and a half long (cycled back to see) had a smidgen of oil left. I then had to get the thread out and broke the block casting so had to re tap deeper :-(
I NOW have anew T piece, a thread to push on adaptor and a rubber pipe from my local hydraulic specialist (parts about £3 IIRC) No probs at all.

Afterwards I found out that stuart taylor had the same prob with all bike engines shaking the T pieces off.

My solution was to make a sandwich plate for the oil filter and tap it for the sender
