Christmas bonus: no
out to dinner: no (for first year ever)
Christmas card: no
A "thank you": By direct boss which doesn't really mean much as I'm his only report LOL
We all got given a very nice box of Chocs though, but being a stupid bugger I've left mine at work, debating wether to do the 60mile commute
tommorow to get them (and also have a few network games with one of the IT lads who has been made redundant).

Waw there seems to be a lot of redundancies going round. I know the building game has been fairly quiet for a while too. Been kinda ignorant to it
what with my last job but am seeing it now. My sympathies to anyone who's been punted I've had it once but never at Christmas.

I got nothing. It's the works do with free bar and food tonight, for employees and spouses. However as me and three others are currently on the
nightshift of a 24hour cover we weren't invited and so far have not been offered anything instead.
DO NOT PUT ON KNOB OR BOLLOCKS!

The last couple of years nowt! However just been taken over by another company so this year so...
Big box of Thornton choccies. No really I mean a big carboard box with boxes of Thornton choccies! So that most of my presents sorted
That was from the company. For my department we got a decent bottle of champers and £60 to spent on a Christmas lunch.

Isn't there some kind of tax bonus for allowed against staff entertianment ?
if so then someone should tell your boss
bonus - weeks pay
christmas card - yes
christmas lunch - later today (with free drink)
thankyou from boss - maybe later after a few drinks (going by last year)
free taxi home - possible
+thankyou form most major customers and suppliers for all our hard work and bussness (in the form of drink, sweets and biscuts mainly)
but... to counter this I've just been given two emergency rush jobs that hes known about for two weeks

At my first places it was always the start of the July shutdown and just before xmas. I think it was that they wouldn't have unhappy people
around the site to long wating for their P45s as it may upset moral.
In my new place I can't really justify an xmas bonus as I'm now in the public sector, which means I would be paying my own bonus out of my
taxes
