Don't try this at home!

http://www.wiseguysynth.com/larry/day.htm

Check this out. If you click the picture it loads a video that's well worth seeing! It's only 9 seconds so should be ok even for dial-up.

If it wasn't for all the explanantion I might think it a fake.

Cheers,

James

there is a way where you can make proper lightning in your microwave, I cant remember how to do it off hand.
Does anyone know?

(its not just putting metal in it)

apparantly wire wool sprinkled with carbon dust will produce ball lightening effects! which are meant to be quite good!

An old CD makes lightening too when placed in the micro.

If you cut the top off a foil lined juice carton and put that in the microwave you can get some lovely lightning effects.

I must be a complete idiot then, I've done it several times (mostly with NT CDs at work) with no ill effects to myself or the microwave (the CD, however, does not survive the operation intact)

The risk of injuring your microwave is fairly high!

These tricks are best done when you've just bought a new one, and the old one's still working...

David

Bulbs in Microwaves

Here's todays recipe.

Take one glass, put small amount of water in, then place one 60 watt bulb in glass.

Place on turntable in microwave, close door and start, watch it light up. We used to do this to demonstrate mirowave ovens to customers. Be careful, not to leave in microwave too long or........BANG!

Roland

ps

I take no responsibility for anyone getting injured etc, etc

deckman, I have done the CD trick several times in various microwaves without them suffering any damage. it doesn't explode or anything. You see the effect briefly after a couple of seconds, then nothing else interesting happens. stop the microwave once you've seen the effect or little holes start burning in the CD (not as pretty, and nasty smell).

I've never heard of this damaging a microwave, but don't blame me if you manage to break yours

Slice a green grape almost in two and open it so it just holds togetherwith a little bit of skin. Microwave it on full power and the joining piece arcs and its safe. Not quite as spectacular as the clip but it amuses me.

yours, Pete.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
