What instruments with a vepour dash
Good morning,
This question is targeted mainly at those of you using a veypor dash, or at least something similar.
Are you using any other instruments with the dash i.e. oil pressure, water temp, fuel gauge or are warning lights suficient do you think ??
How much use is the fuel gauge feature of the vapour and how does it work ??

I have a Veypor and the following separate instruments / warning lights:-
Oil Pressure Gauge
Oil Temp Gauge
Water Temp Gauge
and a Bright 6 set of warning lights:-

I don't have a fuel gauge and rely solely on the Veypor. It works by calculation / calibration. You set it up by telling it how big your tank
is, then fill it up and start the calibration run. Then drive around until the tank is nearly empty. Then you fill the tank back up, and tell it how
much fuel you put in. Then it works out the fuel consumption based on a calculation involving revs / gears / distance travelled.
Obviously it's not as accurate as an actual gauge, but in three years on the road I've never run out and it's pretty accurate! The
only slight pain is remembering to press the button once you've filled up every time. Also you mess up the settings if you only put a £5 of
petrol in the tank, rather than filling to the brim.

I have a bright6 plus a duel Racetech oil pressure/water temp gauge plus an innovate lambda gauge so that I can tune the R1 engine myself.
My veypor is mounted on the steering wheel center.

Thanks for your input.
Are people of the opinion that a water temp gauge and oil pressure gauge are better than lights ?? I just thought that maybe a bright light may be
more noticable than constantly looking a gauge ??

Are you running a bec?
Oil pressure lights are a problem because at low idle (pressures around 6 psi) would make any meaningful pressure switch (25 psi), light up.
If you are using a car engine then you are ok.
