I hjave to admit I thought it was a bit harsh for the actual crime commited.

the child was unharmed and AFAIK she didn't actully rip anyone off any money, although the intent was there.

what about those child murders that have been in the news recently- what sentence di they get?

I think she SM was punished for being a chav and no photogenic, unlike the Madelain MCCann mother,m who is tottty in comparison. Not saying that she did it but there is more public sympathy if you are good looking than for someone who has had a cow's arse grafted onto their face.

FACT: the old B&W fils had villians tying pretty young ladies to railway tracks as the audience would be more sympathetic for those reasons.

Ofcourse you couldn't do that now as you'd proably die of old age waiting for a train to tun on, and then it will stop due to the wrong sort of lady on the tack.

UNHARMED!!!!

Shannon, then nine, was described as disturbed, traumatised and frightened after police discovered her hidden with Donovan in the base of a bed at his dingy flat.

"She appeared to relive her experiences and she often complains of having nightmares where she is being tied up," a senior social worker said in a statement to the judge.

It was also disclosed Shannon will need psychotherapy and other treatment to help her recover from being snatched and imprisoned for 24 days at Batley Carr, a mile from her home on the Dewsbury Moor estate in West Yorkshire.

The child was also drugged. I hope none of my kids are unharmed by drugs

Pure scum. What worries me is that we may have only been told the bits that were meant to be reported.

Interesting that the judge said she probs wasnt clever enough to have done this herself.

Good result. Even if she only does half the sentence i reckon it will be a tough 4 years. Lets hope the inmates dont let it lie.

I can't help but get very emotional when I here of this kind of thing.

I have spent over half my life dealing with this type of low life and seen things that make the hardest of men weep like a child.

My wife was subject to extreme abuse at the hands of one of these animals...no thats not fair, they are lower than animals... and in her fifties she still suffers with the nightmare memories of what was done to her.

I feel so strongly about this sort of thing, I could easily 'deal' with that sort of scum without any guilt at all!! very very

i was pondering on the comparison of her sentence to the various other high profile cases recently.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7838298.stm

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/lancashire/7847638.stm

i suspect these too were lenient rather than KMs too strict, but there is definately something wrong with the comparison.

It's already been said that she'll be serving 4 years inside and 4 years on bail so what's the bet she'll only do 2 years inside?

Harsh ??? I think not the intent was always there to make money from the incarceration of her daughter. However she will now be provided for by the tax payer as will all her children in some way shape or form (cant hold them responsiblethey had no choice) so her selfish act will cost the the workers probably in excess of £300,000 thats all we want in the current reccession, who is the winner she now has zero responsibility . her quality of life has probably improved as well judging by the film footage of her house, cant be bad can it. Or im I just being synical !!

And, no doubt, she'll get a nice house, car and a couple of hundred quid a week when she gets out.

Where is Mr Pierpoint when you need him:

Yep... the length of this sentence is fine - many others are far too lenient!
