Identifying ZX9R Carbs

Finally getting somewhere with the engine change and seem to be on the home straight.

One of the last jobs is to fit the air filter, sausage filter plus base plate from the bike airbox. When searching ebay I am seeing lots of different versions of ZX9R airbox's B1, C3 etc. Anyone know how to ID my carbs so that I buy the correct airbox.

Thanks

Ian

for starters the early ones have CVK carbs and the later ones (E's and F's) have CVR's

beyond that I'm not sure how much difference there is if all oyur using is the back plate :?

have a look in jacko's archive:

Save your money, don't buy the bike airbox. Just get a piece of flat aluminium and make your own backplate, pretty easy even with hand tools. Three of us have just made some, no problem.

on b/ c carbs it is oval + these carbs have two fuel pipes going in the carbs where the E carbs only have one

well its one of the earlier ones anyway - sorry I cant tell you exactly (I'll have a look in the book of lies later and see what it says)

this spotted this on ebay just as an example of what your looking for - I can't say its exactly the one you need, but its that type (same as Danozeman's ^^^)

I'm not actually sure that this part of the airbox is different on each model (at least not different enough to affect you) but I can't say for certain

I found it searching for "ZX9R airbox"
but the only one selling it seperatly is in the US

there is this one too (from a B1)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Kawasaki-ZX9R-ZX9-ZX900-B1-Airbox-Air-Box-Spares_W0QQitemZ120374660189QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motorcycle_Parts?hash=item12037 4660189&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

if you get the wrong one you should be able to sell it on again....

This is my setup and I was told the carbs are from an E1.

So where does the fuel go and what do we connect the other black pipe to?

Cheers.

Andi.
