AVG Free updates

Ive had AVG Free version working for as long as I can remember.

License ended so re installed free version. Now its constantly saying the database is out of date.

If I update it then says update needs restart, so I restart and then the database is out of date again. Now matter how many times I update and restart its always out of date.

Im sure its not a massive problem as it always seems to update but I keep on getting little error messages flashing up on the tool bar.

Anyone else had this problem?

I'd uninstall the program then download it again, start from scratch...

Is you r time and date correct on you comp? I think i had a similar problem, and it turned oout to be the issue. Failing that, google is a mega good help.

I had the same thing too and i uninstalled then reloaded it twice over but it still didn't work so I've binned it now and tried Avast.

It could be that one of the update files is corrupted, but it keeps trying to use it as it knows it's downloaded it once already.

Try this:

AVG Control Center->Update Manager->Settings->Advanced tab-> use "Delete update temporary files"

Then manually start the update again through the Update Manager.

I had similar probs, several people here recommended Avast (free) which I now have & it works perfectly - I gave up with AVG

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1
