Ford 2.8i V6 into a escort mk2 prop and rear axle

Will a mk2 Escort prop shaft and rear axle take the torque of a 2.8i v6 motor?

I don't know what engine was in the Escort that the shaft and axle came from, were they the same running gear between the 1.3ltr and the RS motors? If so I don't think I'll have a problem.

There was a discussion about this a while ago, dont know where the thread is... but the jist of it was..

The axle will take a lot more power as it is in a lighter car, as the amount of power you can deliver to the road without the wheels slipping will be less. Once the wheels slip this is the maximum torque the axle will take.

Try to find the other thread where the discussion origionally was

Cheers
