Croft trackday today

Wasn't participating, but was good to meet up with a few "LCB" bods off here. Was a bit of a scorcher!

Took loads of pics, here's a selection:

Teesside revisited...

Nice one! Did anyone have trouble with the sound meter down there? It's the one thing that puts me off booking a trackday there....

Is that a Caterham Levante???

Wow!

Mike

Love the Lola T70 replica - I'm guessing there wasn't much in the way of noise restrictions if that monster was on track...

Funny you should say that, the Lavante with a box on each side and one in the boot struggled, and it was a 105db day.

Like the F3 front wing on the back of the Atom!

Drove from Newcastle to Sheffield today and was lovely when we left but was pretty crap when we got back to sheffield.

Looks like a good day!

The exhaust can on Q462 AUF was a bit low to the ground and at a funny angle

Croft Spin

Nice pics Andy and it was good to say hello in person.

I think you missed my off just after the Jim Clarke Esses and before Barcroft around 4pm.

I was coming through around 100/105mph just got round the second tyre apex and saw an "ostrich" size phaesant walking straight across in front of us. two choices went through my mind in this split second, hit it or try avoiding it.

Hitting it wasn't an option knowing what damage they can do to the car or even the possibility of hitting us in the face so I tried to out manoeuvre the bloody thing. Not wise at that speed a dab on the brakes and a quick flick ended up us spining out of control at 3 figures.

Needless to say we ended up on the grass going in a spin finanlly coming to a halt in the recently ploughed field. Unbelievably even though the bonnet popped straight off the only damage to the car is some scrathces down the side panel and on the bonnet.

I have at all on the onboard camera including the speedo so I'll will upload it tonight for all to see and said phaesant with 9 lives lol. A credit to the Indy though she performed perfectly all day and still drove us home no problem.

I left a nice long pair of circular number 11's down the runway . Didn't use those Yoko's after speaking with you but even the R888 couldn't save me from that one.

I never thought to take the camera off the car and get some pics and it was too far away for anyone else to have any.

I was about 50m in front of Marc when i saw the pheasant starting its "stroll" across the track, first thoughts were, 'i hope he doesnt hit it!.
I was a bit worried when he was'nt behind me thru sunny out, then red flagged....
Went see if he was ok...he was more worried that he had'nt captured it on video!
Some impressive skid marks...on the track
