2007 Yamaha R1 engine

I am about to buy a 2007 Yamaha R1 engine and i would like to read your opinion on the engine based on your experience. What points do i have to look at? Are there any weak points? How is the engine going in terms of oil surge? Any recommendations in general?
Thanks in advance!

Minimum sump baffle plate for road use.
For track, there are catch tank and breathing issues to address.
An accusump is recommended too.
I have a baffle plate for this year if you want to buy it

Could you please describe what i need to do to address those track issues (breathing etc)? What parts do i need to use and where to find them? Please send me a U2U about the baffle plate. Thanks!

Avoid USA ECU, had bug in early versions
TBs may need adjusting to fix a stalling issue (easy fix)
Clutch not the best

Good background on all these at www.r1-forum.com

I've also uprated my clutch to a Barnett one with springs. They claim to have 80% more clutch plate area.
Others on here have just put the barnett springs on a standard yamaha clutch and report that they are ok too.

I managed to get mine on ebay for £90 but I think that they are about £150 normally.
All I can say is no slip yet, but today is the first day on the road for the MotaLeira!
