Available middy kits

Gents,
Can anyone give a list of middy kits that are currently available (and opinions of them if you have one)

Thanks,
Ian

Sylva Mojo 2 - Not too pretty, slightly modified chassis, now IRS.You can fit Ford engines,4age and others. I've been a passenger in a Renault 5 turbo engined Mojo-unbelievably scarily fast,no squeaks/bumps/shakes/rattles and it goes round bends.I dont fit in it.
Aeon4203- pricey at 7/8k,novel sit in the middle driving position.I fit in it.Only just starting to manufacture them, they know what they are doing regarding suspension. Further info on totalkitcars.
Marlin 5exi-blandsville front end,Strathcarron rip-off rear, skinny chassis, awful name, have a look at the driveshaft angles, designed to take the k series engine which is a good/bad thing if you like/don't like them. I dont fit.
And last but not least.........The GTM Libra.
I fit,it goes well, is truly wonderful,it's too much money-10k gets you the kit I want one. I've just scraped together the money to buy the starter kit and all of a sudden I've got the chance to build an extension to my house and a triple garage. So the Libra will have to wait........
Hope this helps,
Ian
Obviously these are only my opinions, and if any of the manufacturers mentioned here (skinny chassis' have got a problem just tell us how stiff your chassis is.

More opinions

I have also heard and read good stuff about the GTM libra.

The MK GT1 (very suspect chassis design, no triangulation at the front) and Marlin 5EXi ( see above post) have provoked some negative discussion but as these cars are very new we may be basing our thoughts on prototype cars.

You could do a lot worse than build your own. Try the middy sites linked from this forum. Loads of ideas and advice for free. The Lotus 23 chassis is pretty good and you could try copying it. A simple X braced ladder frame would actually beat most kit car spaceframes for weight and stiffness. If you want a ready built chassis then a good guide is to check the engine bay triangulation. The 23 has a single Y brace (OK), the Ultima has a diagonal each side, connecting to the sill frames (OK but check the ultimaV12.ca website - very interesting) and the MK has not much at all.

Well Alez, can you actually buy one? I remember great things being said when it was launched years ago and then it disappeared into obscurity. Surely if it was any good there would be a few around.

I can't figure why you don't hear more about them....very puzzling...

Certainly looks a lot better (especially from the rear) and seems more substantial than the 5exi.......IMO of course...

The built up one featured is very nicely done...perhaps they a very costly to produce and they don't push them that much?.....who knows...just guessing...

Looks like its a two man band so they probably don't want to overload themselves by advertising and ending up with a big waiting list of unsatisified customers. I like the car and the chassis looks nicely done.

Yes, good points.

Probably better to have a few local word of mouth customers to help iron out any build up issues (if there are any of course) and then expand at your own pace....
