use a cereal box used many over the years none ever failed, alternatively can you just use silicone ??

All Bran gives the best seal!
Seriously cereal or other, thicker cardboard boxes, greased make good gaskets

I used a pizza box for a while .... obviously the brand makes a large difference. I'll give you a clue, mine was a green box.

Within what time span ? Cardboard rots when exposed to water, I made a thermostat gasket and it was non existent after 2 months. I bought an A4 sheet
to replace it but it wasn't 1mm thick. You could use a few layers of thinner stuff.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I bought
this on eBay last month, quick
delivery and quality gasket material.
I've used most of it, otherwise I'd have sent you some, but I can vouch for the seller
