ZX9 Wiring..another question
Seem to be making some (slow progress) the only wire I'm not sure about is the black and red from the Cdi..on the wiring diagram it shows it
running to the starter button, not sure of its purpose, what have you all done with yours??

id guess it wants connecting to the start position of the ignition key, to tell the cdi when its cranking; but my diagrams knee-deep in the garage and
its been a few years since i wired one

I think...
It runs to the start button and the kill switch and also to the start relay circuit in the fuse junction box to throw the start relay in. I'll
have a look in the shed tomorrow but it looks like it takes power via the red to all the plug coils as well.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I was given this reply from mistergrumpy:
"Yep kill switch or start switch ( the stop part is irrelevant in this case) It would be on the right handlebar and you need to connect a
black wire with red tracer to the red wire that is common to the HT coils."Followed his instuctions and it now works fine.
Make sure the engine has it's own earth lead, I couldn't get mine to spark it turned out be be a poor earth to the block. I was relying on
the mounting bolts to earth it but a earth lead was needed.
Search my posts as I had trouble wiring my zx9-E and got it sorted from the replies from the very helfull folk on here.
