F.A.O. Johnmor re: Alfa V6 size issues

Did you have any problems with ground clearance with your Alfa V6 engine? Did you fit a shorter sump?

Your engine seems to fit OK without having to modify the bonnet, but the problem I'm having is height issues.

Even with a shortened sump it will be a good bit taller than a standard height Ford Zetec

Any information would be very useful

Thank You

Sump

Hi
Sorry for the late reply

I used the sump from an Alfa 75 V6 also the Oil pump, this reduces the overall height by around 50mm and allows clearance under the bonnet.

My cai a Viento, this has additional room under the bonnet any way but i think the finished height top to bottom was around 620mm

Hope this helps

john

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes.

By that time, who cares.

You're a mile away, and you've got his shoes

Just to agree with Johnmor's measurement - I measured my v6 as 680mm top to bottom.
