Tiger expert

Hi I'm after someone that can answer this for me.
What is the difference between the Tiger E1, super cat, and the super six?

Also is the super cat and E1 one of the same?

Thanks

not really sure, but the ones to avoid the most are the ones with the unsightly bulges in front of the rear wheelarches.

These ones use the whole sierra rear subframe which is very heavy

Tiger Super Six was multi-donor. Was Tigers original, and for a long time premium design. Basis for the more expensive Tiger B6, R6 and even Z100 models. No longer produced, but loads out there.

The original Tiger Cat E1 was designed to be a single donor vehicle based on the Sierra. Basic intent was to make it a lot cheaper to build compared to the Six. It resulted in some compromises as a consequence; eg it uses the entire rear suspension from the Sierra (very heavy). Very popular due to the price, so loads out there, though no longer available new.

The Supercat & Cat XL are both evolutions of the original Cat E1. Not sure of the detailed changes though.

linky

XL is basically just wider.

not sure on the mechanical improvements from the origianl cat but the most obvious bodywork change is a new nose cone without the 'top lip hanging down'

Cat E1 = standard Cat
Supercat = as standard Cat but rear body work has slightly wider rear wheel arches to allow fitment of wider wheels and also wider front cycle wings again for wider wheels
Supercat XL = the chassis is widened behind the seats to allow `bigger framed` people to fit more comfortably (extra width only). Again because it is wider at the rear you can fit wider tyres.
Supersix was Tigers original model and is the smallest of these 4 models.
Sadly the Super 6 and Cat E1 are no longer produced but you can still get a new Supercat and Supercat XL.
HTH,
Nick
