Windscreen Supplier

Chaps,

Anyone got any suggestions where I can get a replacement windscreen from? I just had a bit of a "Moment" in the garage and managed to crack mine. There's no way it's repairable

Also, anyone know if having one's a requirement for MOT?

As always, any advice appreciated.

Steve

I have made my frame but not fitted glass yet. Buy my research from a couple years ago, and emailing autoglass windscreens, told me that they could cut flat sva marked glass to pattern.

Why cant you get glass from your original source......cos you must have got it from somewhere to crack it...

I would, but I didn't build the car... I bought it in a semi-built state

Did you get any idea of cost from autoglass?

something makes me think its 75 quid.... but it might just be my subconcious making that up!

If its std size, such as a robin hood or whatever. I think you can get it for about 30 odd quid from them.

OR you could get a screen from a panda or land rover and get it cut down - keep the bit with the E mark or it wont be legal.

If 75 seems steep, my wifes year old megane needed a new screen - it was 895 quid!!!!!!!!!!

lucky ins covered it

you need to phone around companies that do plant glass ( diggers not green things) as they cut flat lam with legal markings. rac autowindscreens can help.

I've got a Lolocost screen with SVA marks sitting in my garage, left over from when I changed my screen. I had a new one cut by RAC and they wanted £75+vat. I could post you a pattern to see if it would fit.

Thanks for all the responses. I toyed with the idea of an aeroscreen , but my misses was not best pleased with that idea (would mess up her hair, bugs, etc) so found a local company that does agricultrual windscreens. Will cut me one, using the old one as pattern, for £70 inc VAT.

Cheers and Beers,

Steve
