IVA and exposed items

Seen lots of posts on covering various "sharp" edges, what about the front wheel arch metal supports? I have made them from T section iron, to try and stop fractures, but what about IVA and shielding? what have you guys used, if anything?

A picture would help
I suspect you may need to consider some tubing or lagging to cover the edge of the T.
