MK2 Escort Radiator

Whats the general opinions.

I have the MK2 Escort Radiator and the chassis is finally done with all the brackets etc, but should i get the radiator recored or go for new one.

My local Motor Factors can not get them. I think if i go new i could get a plastic formed one (old one is metal and expansion pipe is a loose fit so could not be used as a sealed unit)

Thanks

Check out your local radiator specialists rather than motor factors

You may find the origional escort rad a little bit of a tight fit.

I've used a nissan micro read on my two builds

^ micra would mean work to the brackets, as would a VW polo radiator, but you can get a brand new one from northern radiators for about £30-40

Are new radiators for Mark 2 Escort made of plasitc or meta top tanks?

As i will fit a non pressurised cap to the radiator so the current over flow pipe will be under pressure & my existing one is metal radiator with a plastic pipe push fitted into the hole.

Thanks
