Bike Carb tuner/Rolling Road in Essex

Hello

Im new to the forum and wondered if anyone could give me some advice

I am the proud new owner of a Westy fitted with C20XE plus Bike carbs

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1566434.htm

I was under the impression that she should have somewhere around 180bhp, having had it looked at by my local mechanic he thinks its nearer 140. However by his own admission he can't help me as he's not familiar with bike carbs (his recommendation was to dump them and get twin 45s)

Does anyone know of a Rolling road in the Essex area that could give her the tune/tweak she need's

Cheers

Stephen

I'd say dump the mechanic if bike carbs have him stumped.

However, his recommendation of 45yr old twins is spot on, not as dangerous as 18yr old's.

Keep the bike carbs
They will use less fuel /react faster /once set up no more going out of tune
Just looked at the piston head advert
If Bogg Brothers set them up they wont be far out

at the fly wheel, but that was only his estimation, hence why im looking for something a little more technical

The 180 was also quoted as being at the fly wheel

How can he estimate if its not on a rolling road
I have had my car on two different r/roads one said 170 and the other said 150
i estimate it 160
thats at the fly wheel
As i said above if Boggs did it it wont be far out
Dave Bogg know his carbs

atspeed set my car up. its nice farther and sons run company that really care about what they do.

all i can say is that they really really know what they are doing. my car went in with 73bhp and come out with 90bhp just from setting the bike carbs up properly.

also they are totally fine with setting up megajolts and megasquirts which many rolling roads dont like to touch. they even burnt me a back up of my megajoly map to a cd just in case i ever had to do a firmware update on it.

they spent a whole day setting up my car and let me take it out for a drive before i paid to make sure i was happy.

oh and they even bought me a bacon butty for lunch

Ashg - how much did your tuning session cost? (if you don't mind me asking).
