MOT on a Q reg?

hi all i wonder if anyone would know the answer to my question,
i regestered my robin hood 2b back in sep 08. it had to go on a Q plate, it has now been off the road for nearly 10 months on a sorn. when i came to tax it on line in April for the detling kit car show it came up with this car has no MOT.
i thought that it wasnt due its mot untill it was 3 years old? or is it because it is on a Q plate that i only got one years MOT?
many thanks. Dean.

Well I ahve just gotten off the phone from VOSA who passed me to DVLA who said I need an MOT (registered Jul 08 on a Q)

They then said I should ahve had one when it was first registered after SVA...

What a load of rubbish! £50 to spend that could have ben spent elsewhere! Or do I try the form?
