Today - I am mostly going to... UPDATE WITH INEVITABLE RANT!!!

Get my tax disc and...

WALK AWAY EMPTY HANDED BECAUSE THE DVLA'S COMPUTER IS A STEAMING PILE OF RANCID *&$%@#@!!!!!

AAAARRRGGGGHHH

They've got an older date in their system (date of construction) that isn't on the V5C (although the veeeery nice man at DVLA told me it was my responsibility to correct these errors) so technically I've been driving without an MOT for 10 months without knowing and I can't get my tax today because the computer says it needs an MOT even through it's not three years old and apparently only the local DVLA offices (which are now all shut) have the possible power to correct.

I wouldn't bloody mind so much but they cocked it all up three years ago when it first got registered...

Post linky

Go for a blat then...

No - Going for a sulk. In a darkened room. With loud, angry music playing

Start finishing the fettling for Stoneleigh...

Do you think I need to worry about ash?...

Today, our car needs dropping onto it's wheels, the suspension bolts tightening, a brake pipe replacing, then no doubt a fruitless search for an MOT stationopen on a Saturday ;(

Finished the manual tensioner for drive belt, swapped supercharer pulley for next size down to see what difference it makes.

Changed header tank cap for one that actually seals, now not blowing water everywhere!

Went for a few runs, picked up Mattc for a ride up the road.

To prevent any more belt slip changed idler near crank pulley for even bigger one to give another few degrees of wrap.

Glued on bonnet supporting brackets which should make the alignment better

Bought the new oil ready for the 1000mile oil change tomorrow!

Sorry Joe, it wasn't meant as a moan... might I be putting the old one back for Stoneleigh though? I'll phone you Monday.

Anyway today I... cleaned up at work, did some paper work, removed an Escort D cylinderhead, walked the dog for an hour, cured an oil leak on the Fury, striped the clutch, picked Andy Bates brain, rebuilt the clutch with Barnett springs, walked the dog again (2 hours)and then collapsed in a heap in front of the TV.
