119p last night for derv, jet garage next to Whitemare Pool.

4 garages going into town down the A690 vary between 117p and 122p, BP always being the dearest, Tesco normally the cheapest..

Driving past Washington services in 3rd at 25mph this morning was 129.9 I think, I dont go in (nobody else does either, its always empty) I just shake my head every morning!

Shell on the A19 near Murton was 120p last Saturday.

All prices rounded up from the pointless .9 on the end

At home 124.9p per litre
At work 6.6p per litre

I don't pay for fuel at work though so it's pretty irrelevant

What I find hard to understand, is why folks don't seem to take notice of how much they are paying. Up the road there are two independant garages within spitting distance of each other. One is usually 2-3p a litre cheaper than the other but they both busy. I recently asked the guys at work how much fuel was in their area and not one of the 8 guys had any idea how much they were paying. Their response was, 'when you need fuel, you just fill-up'. When I pointed-out the price difference they shrugged it off saying 'whats a few pence?..'

The same guy owns two garages in Whitby. One on the way in/out of town and the other in a not-so-prominent location. I asked him why the fuel prices were different and his reply?......
'Because folks will pay more for the convenience'.

At the garage where I served my apprenticeship, the forecourt manager was always trying to organise the shop so that folks had to stand near the chocolate displays whilst they waited to pay for fuel. I asked what the idea was and his reply was,' if every person who spent £10 on fuel (this was when £10 was a lot of fuel!) bought a Mars bar, then we make more profit on the Mars than we do on fuel....'

If everyone took the time to buy fuel at the cheapest place in their town, then the fuel prices would drop. Fact!

I do, the BP here is £1.22 and I've never been there once.

Also when the first fuel protest came about they made it illegal to obstruct the flow of fuel, thus the only thing we can do about it is stop buying it...

Shell at Ellesmere Port (about 2 miles from the Shell plant) £1.20 for diesel. I don't pay attention to the petrol it's never more than a tenner in the moped

Which is why I checks here pretty often.

As in, every few days.

Around these parts, the cheapest fuel tends to cycle between different places. I by my normal diesel wherever is cheapest.
The Bio always coems from the one place at 90p / litre.
