Locost - Airfield day

LCB - Airfield day

Emails sent out to those who emailed me,

date confirmed as 9th july (friday)

no noise limits [/size]

Hello all! this is a follow on from a previous thread; if you are seriously interested please send an email to

ant.collier@gmail.com

and ill put you on the list! at the moment I have 10 peoples email address's

Myself and eddie99 are going to be organising an airfield day at north weald. situated at junction 7 of the m11, so just north of London, near Harlow

£38 per car - 9th July - North weald airfield

this will be for Locost builders members so all kits, unless we need people to fill spaces etc. i did this activity day as my first 'track' day and its really good fun. nothing to hit and loads of run of areas, plus it will be all friendly LCB chums.

the price will be £38.00 per car (passengers/additional drivers welcome) whilst this may change a little it should only go down unless we don’t have enough people sign up. your car doesn’t need to have an mot and can be pre iva, but the car should be suitable for using on a track day and you are fully responsible for your own car. there is plenty of space for trailers if your bringing the car for a shakedown test then there is loads of space to have a tinker etc.

if you are interested email myself at

ant.collier@gmail.com

just to let me know and ill keep everyone up to date with what’s going on, this isn’t a commitment to pay or anything like that.

the date is the 9th of July. payment will probably be 1 month before. i'm not doing this to make any money and don’t intend to, I just want a cheap track day with some good people!

Pretty sure there won't be noise limits. Would be worth checking though. Am sure Ant will check tomorrow.

Has this got anything to do with Andy Walsh? Are you just going to use the area normally used by him and mark out a circuit using cones?

I am interested though it would be a TVR not a kit

Hi guys, basicaly i have spoken to car limits and will be hiring north weald airfield through them for an activity day, the differance being it will be all us lot!. ]

The price to hire the airfield includes two 'instructors' who will set up the circuits and run the day. we could only pay for one instructor and marshal ourselves.

If its a good day and we decide to do it again then we can 'marshal' ourselves, but for £40 each knowing that its going to be run by guys that know what they are doing, i dont think it gets much cheaper. i think we would save a couple of quid by only having 1 instructor but then we have to get someone else to stand on a runway all day.

im not sure what instructors will be there but andy may well be. if anyone has any idea's or opinions on how to make the day better please let me know. were doing it to have a good track day and meet some of you nice folks.

at the moment im trying to figure out what we could do afterwards, im thinking a short drive (nothing to long so trailored vehicles can come) to a pub for a bbq or somethin like that.

also, its not a race! but maybe a prize for the fastest on the sprint circuit may be an idea.

anyway, ill be confirming dates etc today,

still awaiting details on noise limits etc.

Got you now, when you said 'airfield' and 'track' day I was wondering what you were trying to arrange there. I would be up for a one of Andy's activity days, it has been a while, if you are happy for me to bring a 400SE.

I've not got a kit car, but am looking into buying one in the near future. Do you mind if I pop along as it's only down the road from me and it'd be a great chance to see a variety of cars being driven properly and talk to a few owners?

Also, if there are a few spare places at the end of the day, can I bring my S2000 for a play?

would love to, but its too far from liverpool in my bec with the stupid diff ratio I have. that is fantastic value - so well done for organising it.

Are there any airfields for us northerners to try to approach?

If you don't spin it, you're not trying hard enough!

I almost lost my hat last time. Windscreens don't help much when you're going sideways at 70
