Any bike engine owners on here for a question

Not sure if its me or my car but ive bought a Factory built GSXR 1000 Mk indy and by christ the clutch sensative,

Let clutch out about inch and half nowt, let it out another 1mm and it bites let iti aout another 1mm and its fully out, im stalling the bloomin thin 9 times out of 10..

Throtle is a bit light and im reving it high when trying to pull away..

Anyone else have any issues like this at all, mine is a cable clutch..

Some bike clutches take a lot of getting use to, some are more normal in use. My ST1100 clutch is nice and proportional but I know when I built my car in the STM garage people taking the blade demo car for a test drive would usually stall it the first 9/10 times...

They do take a bit of getting used to, there designed to be operated with one finger, your using size 9's, you could change the pedal ratio to make it less sensitive, attach the cable to the pedal nearer the pivot

Bike clutches are like this. I altered mine by changing the pivot point, every little helps.
Oh, and wear thin soled shoes.

cable is the way forward

yup they are tricky to get off the line.
you could try fitting a different clutch pedal with a less sensitive ratio. i.e refit the cable a bit closer to the pivot point . this will give you more pedal movement for less clutch engagement.

yep I had the same problems. I changed my clutch springs for barnett springs which were much stiffer, been fine ever since.

Ahh. the binary clutch syndrome. It's either on or off and nothing in between.

The answer is to alter the padal ratio by moving the cable attachment point closer to the pivot. That gives a lot more feel but they're still sharp. It's something you get used to.
Altering the throttle pedal ratio can also help with that but try a return spring on the pedal first.

Before you go changing the pedal ratio, try adjusting the clutch so it bites a bit sooner rather than the last few mm.

Had the same problem on my gixxer. Had to go for my first drive without shoes to at least get some feeling. Added a second hole in the gearlever so the pedalratio would be better. Makes a world of difference, I could wear high heels now and still get away

You could just try revving it to 10K then side stepping the clutch. That might work

Some good points there guys thanks seems its the same as all the rest then, ive added two springs to throttle pedal which is now a tough heavy so im going to try it with just the one on..

Clutch is cable operation so i will give the moving the pivot point idea a go, mines a race car i cant be doing a start and stalling and getting rammed up the arse with a blooming great M3 or something cause i stalled it....

The only other issue ive got is the Datatool gear indicator went down road in 2nd and it said i was in 6th (i think its been on the drink lol)...

With reguard to the pedal picture above i assume you added your extra hole mod above the original nearer the pivot point yeah ??

Does that little amount make that much difference it looks only about what 5/6mm or so ??

Yes, makes a big difference, don't know the exact distance, but give it a go, it'll feel much better.
