That was far too close......
I'd just got to bed last night when I here alot of thumping about next door and then some shouting outside - went to have a look out the window
and thats when I smelt the smoke
legged it downstairs and out the door at which point the nextdoors window exploded! and a min later the blue lights came round the corner and had it
under control a few mins later
lucky knowone was hurt, but next doors got one totaly gutted room and alot of somke and water damage in the rest of the house
turns out the fire started about 3ft from my bed - thankfully on the other side of a solid brick wall
the thing that really shocked me was how much smoke came through onto my side - so I'm off now to fit another smoke alarm, then I've got
the whole house and everything in it to clean in an attempt to get rid of the smell

scary
very scary you can never have enough smoke alarms.
As an ex fireman always used amaze and horrify me that some people still don't have them, glad nobody was hurt.

Crikey - scary!!
Cant you claim for professional cleaning from their insurance?? They're gonna be making a small claim themselves i guess!!

Glad to hear you're ok Robert...
Ask your neighbour for their insurance details and get them to instigate the cleaning. You'll be amazed at how much a proper clean-up will
cost!
We had a similar experience when we were living in a flat... fire downstairs and our carpets, wall, furniture and clothes were all ruined. The b*gger
downstairs didn't have insurance though and we had to claim off our own!
It's Evolution Baby!

its not that bad - no worse than the smell you get standing too close to a bonfire
it was my bedroom and a the attic that got the worst and luckly there isn't anything it the attic
I'm goting to go through everything over the next couple of days and see if anythings actually been damaged

Exactly the same thing happend to me in Aug 08, scary isn't it, i did have things in my attic and ended up claiming on the insurance, they sent
a cleaning team out to clean the house and everything that was smoke damaged they replaced or sent off to the dry cleaners, infact the were so many
clothes it came to 2k for the dry cleaning or there abouts, so they offered us £1500 to wash them ourselves
