Basic lights & warning lights for IVA, what's needed?

Right then, I'm still at the parts buying stage of my build(getting everything for a winter of fun/swearing).

I've been thinking about what i need to be legal, i have come up with the following list:

Lights:
Headlights (with side/dip/main)
Front indicators
Side repeaters
Rear stop/tail
Rear indicators
Rear fog light

Dash warning lights:
Hazards
Indicators
Fog Light
Main beam.

Have i missed anything?
Or, is there anything on the list i don't need?

Cheers Frank.

Hi Frank,
You need a brake warning light too - I think that this can be the handbrake light but needs to show that the bulb works.

Best bet is to download the IVA manual to make sure you have all the lights you need at all the right heights and distances etc.

ETA: D'oh, too slow - the Wiltshire boys are on it today!

Lights:-
Reverse light

Dash:-
Sidelights
Brake warning

Just bear in mind that when pricing up warning lights etc for dash you can buy a complete speedo/rev counter fuel gauge & all 6 warning lights required for IVA for a little over £100! A set of savage switches with warning lights would come to a lot more than that on their own - depends what you are aiming for.

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

Thats what I'm going to do, when I'm ready (and richer) I'm going to ask you for an acewell unit Russ: I really like the look of the new round all-in-one units!

You need sidelight indication, this can be via instrument dimming, the way mine and other dashes comply. The other option is a seperate sidelight warning light.

I'm aiming for fast and cheap!!!!

Do i need a reverse light for the IVA?
You dn't need 1 for the MOT...

So, the round Acewell speedo, covers the IVA requirements?

I was looking at 1 of those...

Yes, reverse light required for IVA

The Ace 2859 covers the 6 lights required for IVA - you need to mount it in the exempt area due to radius requirements, £105.75 at Locost rates + £4.95 P & P

No, you need a light that warns of low brake fluid level. The lamp must be testable and a common way to do it is to use a switch on the handbrake.

The downside is now most people seem to think that's a handbrake warning light - I wonder how many people stop quickly these days if it comes on while driving due to their brakes being about to fail.
