Breakdown cover renewal ..... again.
Don't forget chaps to question your breakdown cover renewal. The AA just sent me through my breakdown renewal - £199.50. Went on to the web site
and checked the new member price (all be it without home start, which I don't need as was given to me free for the last few months of last year)
and the price was £89.99 - National Relay, which they did of course match without question.
If you're not living life on the edge you're taking up too much room.

When you questioned it did they say "i'll just go and check with my supervisor that I can give it to you at the new customer rate"
then go on hold for about 3 and half seconds come back and say " yes, that'll be no problem" ....by any chance?

Had the same with mine the last two years checked the web price as a new customer rang them and they matched the price.
Saved £40 this year just by a phone call (that should prob read "didnt get ripped of for £40 due to a phone call"

I did the same and they would have matched the 'New customer' on line price.
By that point I was p**sed off with them, so told them to shove it and went to RAC instead.

They won't give you free homestart if you start again as new member. They probably won't let you start a new policy either unless the
main member is under a different name or your address has changed. Just phone them up and say it's too expensive and you are going to the RAC
unless they match the internet price. They can match it but they will probably try to make up the difference with Marks and Spencer vouchers with
they but for peanuts.

They just matched the internet price with me, no discussion or argument...

Try AutoAid- it's an insurance policy so you pay and claim but they arrange recovery for you on a their hotline - about £37 for the equivalent
of top level UK cover from AA/RAC
