Walkie Talkie advice!
Morning all - We have 8 Binatone Terrain 650 waklie talkies here at work. We need to buy more and it would seem EBay is cheaper. The newer and more
powerful model (Action 950) is only £75 for four and was just about to buy when someone said...
"Are they compatible with the exisiting ones?"
I thought they worked on the same frequencies and therefore had to be but they weren't convinced! I was really confident but they've
knocked that now..
Could some knowledgable LCB'er put my mind at rest?
Cheers!
Michael

This seems to suggest they all work on the same freq range...

And from my exprience, I thought all these PMR work on the same range as you can often pick up conversations on different makes, its just whoever is
in range.

I have three bought in the US that won't talk to those bought in the UK (damn colonials) so if you're buying off Ebay you might want to be
sure of thier intended market.

Sometimes that is a good thing as there can be an awful lot of traffic on the PMR446 channels.

Also, the american PMR frequencies are not the same as ours. In fact, i think the US frequencies are the same as our airport ground services
frequencies and others alike.
ETA: Be careful, you could get into a load of trouble.
