that axle

got to be a solid jobbie its going on a 1938 morris 18 chassis ....... cant do too much or ill get into big trouble with modyfing .......... rover 2.6 IOE mated to a four speed + overdrive gearbox , go a fair bit of grunt . that yank job on e bay would do it but very much over kill .......cost so far £150 for the car and v5c ........£50 for the engine and gearbox .......chassis is in excelent condition , just a mechanno job really , you would have thought that there would be a handy table of axle widths on the net somewhere.............and a 240 volvo is too narrow alas ....

That is a very heavy axle, what about V6 Capri probably easier to come by over there.
I had a 2.6 litre Cologne Capri and it towed a 1400 lb car on a 1000 lb trailer 100 miles a weekend for 38 weekends for saloon racing.
