Mx5 wheels binding.

Hi just wondered if anyone has an Mx5 on here. Recently when I turn wheels to full lock on either side
and reverse backwards it seems as if the tyre is juddering as if it is rubbing on something. I have jacked it up and
checked everything but cannot find anything at fault. Could it be the steering rack on its wayout. Any suggestions would be
appreciated thanks.

By jacking up the car the wheels will come further out of the arches so will be almost imposible to see where its rubbing. you need to leave the car on the ground and check lock to lock.

Are you sure its rubbing and not a noisy torsen diff? My torsen used to clonk and click and whine in reverse which was perfectly normal.

I dont think it is the diff as it only does it on full lock. I checked it while wheels on ground but could not see any fouling
of wheels. I think best to get checked out at my local garage. Thanks for the replies.

i'm fairly sure it's the lack of ackerman.

mine does it when reversing when it's wet or on loose surfaces, like it's dragging one of the wheels as it goes. only if i go reasonably quick too.

all my steering system is tip top so i wouldn't worry if it's only this specific instance
