Winter upgades 2010

Well the car is in bits once again, So I thought I'd start another thread on winter upgrades, Whos planning what?

Myself I've got the following planned;

Rose jointed upper front wishbones
Correctly positioned steering rack to sort bump steer
Shortened rack to assist above ask
Fit oil thermostat to stop engine running too cool
Change Crownwheel and pinion to aid accel times (I do not need to be able to do 160mph)
Make and fit rear tray to stop the rear panel "ballooning"
Re-route fuel and brake lines to aid above.
Re-wire back of car as it keeps blowing random fuses

Possibly fit full cage

Should keep me busy for a few month, but i've piggybacked onto the Turbosport trackday at Combe on March 18th, so no pressure.

ATB Dan.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I was intending to do a full remodel on the back half of the car including new bigger LED lights, rear window and better doors. I ran out of cash after making my homebrew throttlebodies but there's always next winter isn't there?

i will mostly be fixing a very small but annoying oil leak from the sump area
getting the side lights to work again not worked since the last mot
giving the engine a full service
checking spring rates and maybe replacing to stiffen it up a bit
fitting a full paddle shift with clutchless up and down and auto blip which involves a lot of fabricating, all the bits are now here after the brother in law fabd it all at work.
oh and giving it its yearly polish and going round with the touch up stick to remove the worst of the stone chips, slicks and shiny paint dont work together.

My list for when I get back in the garage is:

Overhall the rear axle, (Its leaking oil out the oil seal)
Considering a bigger radiator as it suffers a bit in extremely hot weather in traffic
New intercom since the starcom one is failing
Stronger gearbox mount - mine knocks somehow
Sump Guard
Shift Lights
Fix the speedo

My project, Rip out blade engine and replace with 5vy R1. All gotta be finished for irst race forst weekend of April. Sounds a long way off but I know it will all end up being a rush! Also just bought a video vbox to get some top quality in car footage and data logging, luckily a quick and easy install!

I'll be chucking the Alfa v6 in the bin and fitting the Pug v6.
Swapping the front escort tca's for wishbones.
Ditching the Atlas rear axle and fitting a de-dion and Sierra lsd.
If I have a spare few minutes, I may brace the chassis to stop it from flexing.........

I've gone from 1300 X-Flow to 2.0L Zetec Blacktop. Raceline sump and Water Rail, Custom zorst, Emerald K6 ecu, Denso Alternator and 45mm Jenvey T/B's.

Work started in November and finished xmas eve Merry Christmas to me.

Tweeking at the moment and I have a Rolling Road session booked with Dave Walker on the 24th Jan to set it all up.

So excited!! and yes I know its hard to believe but it is a bit quicker then the 1300 x-flow

Ok, quite a productive break.
I've managed to remove the axle and change over the crownwheel and pinion, Make an under tray to control airflow into and around the boot area, knocked up some upper wishbones only to find they are more suited to my mates racecar!! so I'll make another set and fitted my new exhaust collector. Just gotta get the steering rack sorted, make a new silencer, re-wire the back of the car and make a section of channel to hold the flap clear of the diff on the under tray.

ATB Dan.
