Who wants my old TVs??
As we all know, the analogue TV transmitters will be switched off in a few weeks so I am buying a couple of LCD digital jobbies for the bedrooms -
this means I have got 2 perfectly functional CRT TVs (19" & 15" ) that I am not sure what to do with.
Do I just take them down the recycling centre or could anyone make use of them?

If only you lived closer.
Keep them, your other Tv's could well break down and then you'll either be without Tv or have to get more. The last year has tought me
that no matter how bad a Tv is aslong as it works it's a Tv. Especially if you've got sky or a freeview box or even a VCR.

At the risk of highjacking Raz's thread.
I have the same problem. I have 3 x 28" Philips widescreen CRT TV's which I am looking for homes for.
Also, a massive 36" Philips widescreen TV, which is I believe the largest size CRT screen that was made and cost £1,700 when I bought it new.
All fully functional and with remotes and stands (I think). So, if anyone in the Kent (Sittingbourne) area is interested in a free TV send me a
U2U.
These really are too modern and too good to send to recycling so free to a locost member.
Any good to you Morcus as not far from you?
By the way, the 36" one is very heavy and needs two strong people to lift.

Wrap them up and put in loft. One day they will all be uber trendy TV's and desirable again.

Raz & Mike - Have you thought about offering them on freecycle?
Got to be useful to someone with a £20 set-top box.
I'd have one for the kids play room if I was closer - they're much more robust than modern flat screen TVs when it comes to children as my
nice Panasonic Veira will bear testament

I took a 28" Panasonic CRT down the recycling centre last year, broke my heart as it had a beautiful picture and worked perfectly, but I had put
my back out moving it about for the previous 18 months while I couldn't bear to get rid of it. Shame, couldn't even give it away.
If you're not living life on the edge you're taking up too much room.

I got rid of a big, perfectly fine panasonic CRT on freecycle - think it was only on 2-3 days before a lady came and picked it up.
Better than binning them.

you can use any CRT tv with freeview so long as it has a scart lead connector on the back, I have on myself and it's just fine with an asda
box
besides big CRT tv are perfect for sitting in the corner of a room as then their depth makes no odds
