Sky box and dish, to use with a tourer caravan

yes i know, i said Tourer !!

Dad has given me an old sky pace receiver and dish, and i wondered if i could use this with/in my caravan, in place of the ariel /pole arrangment

It does not have a card in it, but will i be able to pick anything up ?
even if its only normal tv channels it would be a bonus !!

Any one know, before i start rigging it up in the garage to see, as it may save me some time

regards

steve

Not Yet

But I intend to

I have decoder that I bought from Lidl that will pickup anything that's free out there long as I point the dish the right way.

The list above shows more sats.

You can even get an app for your phone to help you finder the satelites.

FTA you should be ok , FTV you would need a sky card , I believe even out of date sky cards work for the freeview channels , but I'll wait for someone to come along and tell me I'm talkin' Cobras.

Steve

If you're planning on going to Europe (further South) you may need a bigger dish (don't ask me how I know!)

Once you get the hang of setting it up it's relatively easy - I found the best way was aiming it in the same direction as somebody else's first then using the box's 'meter'.

Wyn

It's worth it! Just like touring in the UK but with better weather! We've 'done' France the past few years but can't go this year (crap work position) and I'm gutted!

I was given a SKY + box.

Just used a speaker tripod stand with a DIY bracket.

then bought a tuning meter to make life easier.
