Its a lovely castle, a few years ago they had all the staff dressed up in period costumes and had peasants fighting knights etc, five year old would love that. Not sure if they do it every day or only on special occasions though.

When I last lived there it was having a lot of construction work which spoiled the views, but the grounds are lovely.

Kenilworth castle is also worth a wander. Not for a five year old and two sixty year olds, but the walk from warwick castle out to kenilworth through the country is one of my favorite afternoon strolls.

its not a bad day out at all . we got some free tickets a few years ago/tesco i think. the grounds in the middle are nice and the tours were pretty good but the best part by far was going up to the top of the tower and looking out over the town the view is fantastic the engineering part with all the old machinery is very good also. get there early as the car park near the entrance isnt very big.

Warwick Castle is excellent!

BTW the main car park isn't the little one by the entrance, it's the one off West Street/Stratford Road.

Fascinating place...lots to do. Plenty to see. £30 each now is it???!! Blimey. £25 when i went about 18 months ago. Defo worth a visit though. See if you can get a 2 for 1 offer in the paper or something as its (im sure) part of the madame tussauds get up and they are always doing offers.

Hope you have a fun day!

As everyone else said - try to catch the firing on the trebuchet. It takes a while to load / set up but its pretty cool to watch.

Kenilworth is interesting but not as good as warwick - its more a ruin to walk around and try and take some arty photos (ok, perhaps the last bit is just me).
