Honda S2000 or CEC?

Well I had the wife out in the kit car tonight (first time since the conversion from cross flow to R1 power) and to say she was not impressed is a major understatement. Top and bottom of it is now that she does not want to get in it now as its to savage in acceleration and loud??!!??

So it may be up for sale soon as we do use the kit a lot together and to be fair to her she does drive it a bit too.....

So possible choice is to sell or px the current car for a CEC or go for something completely different like a Honda S2000.

Has anyone had any experience of the S2000, if so what are they like to own?

Easy, get an S2000 and put the engine in a CEC

It looks like the Midget is winning at the moment......

If I had not just spent a small fortune converting to the R1 set up that would be great idea!!!

That's a shame, all the pro's of a BEC go unappreciated

What about getting a nice large silencer made by the likes of Simpson or something.

Making the engine a lot quieter might make a lot of difference to her and although pricey in Locost terms would be a damn site cheaper than changing engine or starting again!

Cheers,
James

I finally finished, SVA'd and registered my Indy in November.

Took SWIMBO out for a run up to the Scottish border the very next day. Funny enough she's never been back in it

Tried a db killer in the system and it did not make that much of a difference other than taking some of the edge of the performance...

Think the gear change may also be an issue, but I have not been saying that out loud. yet .......

What silencer do you have? Any leaks in the exhaust? And do you have an airbox?
Surely you can get the sound down with these basics.

Then if you limit your revs to 6000rpm, add a bit of extra weight, add in an oil leak or two and then it will be just like the old cross-flow.

It would take more than ore or two oil leaks and a shed load more weight
